PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDC)

The PADI Instructor Development process will help you learn the PADI System of scuba diver training and education. This will include the standards and procedures, effective academic teaching presentations, teaching students in confined water, conducting open water training dives; for beginners and continuing education courses; and other related topics.

There are two courses to the Instructor Development Course (IDC) process - the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course. The AI course is run over 4 days and the OWSI course is over 5 days.

Whether you chose to join as a Dive Master and start the IDC (the AI and OWSI program) or join the OWSI program as an AI we will endeavour to guide you through this process by improving your skills and techniques on top of teaching you more leadership ability.

Having Fun!After completing the IDC and to become a qualified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, you must successfully complete an IE (Instructor Examination). You will be evaluated on dive theory, academic teaching, confined-water teaching, open-water teaching, rescue abilities and general diving skills and professionalism all assessed by an Examiner from PADI over 2 days.

Our aim is not only to fully prepare you for the Instructor Exam but to prepare you for a future as a scuba diving educator, so you will be able to go on and teach diving anywhere in the world.

In addition to AI and OWSI, a full curriculum of continuing instruction education courses is available these include Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Speciality Instructor ratings, Emergency First Response Instructor, IDC Staff Instructor and Status Updates.

Course Details and Schedule will be added shortly - in the mean time please get in touch if you are thinking of taking the 'Go Pro' challenge!
